IN THE BUILDING | Spurs vs. Timberwolves Game 3 POST-GAME REACTION | 2026 NBA Playoffs Western Conference Semifinals

Mike Taylor and Rudy Jay are back LIVE with your full post-game breakdown from Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The series is tied 1-1 and the action has shifted to Target Center in Minneapolis — the Spurs are on the road looking to steal one in enemy territory. We have got the full reaction, the biggest plays, and everything you need to know about where this series stands heading into Game 4.

WHERE THIS SERIES STANDS

This series has been a wild ride already and we are only two games in. The Spurs came out of Game 2 swinging, handing the Timberwolves a 133-95 blowout that inflicted the worst playoff loss in Minnesota franchise history. Victor Wembanyama finished with 19 points and 15 rebounds while Stephon Castle led the team with 21 points and De'Aaron Fox added 16.

Minnesota was held to just 35 points in the first half of Game 2, shooting 29.8% from the field and going 2-for-15 from three before falling behind by 25 at the break. Head coach Chris Finch had seen enough: "I just told them we got punked."

Before that, the Timberwolves stole Game 1 on the road 104-102 despite Wembanyama setting an NBA playoff single-game record with 12 blocked shots, with Anthony Edwards coming off the bench to deliver 18 points including 11 in the fourth quarter. One game for each team and everything to play for tonight in Minnesota.

THE INJURY FACTOR

The Timberwolves were already monitoring Anthony Edwards' knee coming into this series, and Ayo Dosunmu suffered a right heel injury in Game 2, playing only seven minutes before sitting down. Minnesota's depth is being tested in a major way, and how banged up they are tonight may be the deciding factor in whether the Spurs can take control of this series on the road.

THE RESILIENCY OF THIS SPURS TEAM

The Spurs had not lost two consecutive games since back in January, and since that stretch they went 40-9 — the equivalent of a 69-win regular season. Young or not, Wembanyama and his teammates have already developed a resiliency that can serve a team with championship dreams well.

San Antonio came into this postseason without much playoff experience, and they have answered every test thrown at them. Losing Game 1 at home, bouncing back with a 38-point blowout, and now taking their show on the road for the first time in this series. This is what building a championship culture looks like.
