Welcome to the second instalment of my 'LIVING LEGENDS' series. It gives me great pleasure to welcome one of the best pioneering festival promoters and current tour promoters in Australia Sahara Herald to the VINYL TAP chair. Sahara is a tour de force (pardon the pun) and a fantastic role model for women in the music industry the world over. She made her mark as an integral cog of Australia's first and biggest traveling music Festival, The Big Day Out. Not only was the Big Day Out a rite-of-passage festival for many of us who can or care to remember, but it paved the way for the festival/s of today. It was cutting edge, irreverent, vital and game changing which, well, pretty much sums up Sahara's personal and professional journey in the music business and in life. This is a warts and all story. Sahara speaks from the heart like no one else I have managed to interview for this podcast. It's a story about the up's and down's of the working in the business and how one person has managed to battle through the jungle as it, at times, becomes. It's also a story about what hard work, commitment and passion can lead to- continued success!
