In today’s fast-paced world, we often find ourselves passively consuming information. We watch movies, scroll through social media, and binge-watch television shows without ever truly engaging our minds. While these activities may offer brief moments of entertainment, they come at a cost. Constantly acting as a spectator paralyzes our mental processes, stunts our creativity, and severely limits our ability to concentrate. Over time, this passivity erodes the sharpness of our minds, leaving us feeling disconnected and mentally sluggish.

Grandmaster WaXhira of the Sacred Atlantean Brotherhood teaches, “The mind was designed to be active, to think, to create, and to focus. When we let our minds passively absorb external stimuli without engaging them, we allow our inner power to wither. To cultivate true mental strength, we must engage in practices that require concentration, discipline, and intentional focus.” This is why spiritual practices like meditation, catechisms, and our ancient rituals are so critical. They were crafted not only to awaken our spirit but to exercise the mind, strengthen our concentration, and restore mental clarity.

The mind, like any muscle, requires exercise to remain strong and vibrant. When we engage in passive activities, we stop exercising our brain's ability to focus and discern. Watching a movie or scrolling through social media for hours does not require us to use our attention in a meaningful way. The information we consume is often fragmented, shallow, and disconnected from our personal growth. In contrast, practices like meditation, catechisms, and rituals are designed to train the mind to become more focused, disciplined, and centered.

Meditation: Cultivating Focus and Clarity

Meditation is perhaps the most effective tool for strengthening the mind. It teaches us to focus our attention on a single point, whether it’s our breath, a mantra, or a visualization. This focus helps to calm the mind, clear away distractions, and center our consciousness. Over time, meditation enhances our ability to concentrate and deepens our awareness of the present moment. The more we meditate, the stronger our mind becomes, just as lifting weights strengthens our muscles.

In the Initiate degree of the Sacred Atlantean Brotherhood, meditation is one of the first tools we are taught to master. The Ship, symbolizing the body, serves as a vessel for our meditative practices. As we sit in stillness, we anchor our attention, using the Anchor as a tool to stabilize our focus. With every breath, we train the mind to let go of distractions and align with higher consciousness. This practice of stillness and focus is essential for awakening the mind’s latent potential.

Catechisms are designed to engage our minds in a structured and intentional way. These sacred questions and answers require us to reflect deeply on spiritual truths, ponder their meanings, and internalize their wisdom. The process of questioning and answering sharpens our ability to think critically, process information, and draw connections between abstract concepts and personal experience. As Grandmaster WaXhira of the Sacred Atlantean Brotherhood often teaches, “When Passion and Belief come together in peace within, they create a foundation upon which the universe can manifest your highest desires. To believe is to set the intention; to feel is to bring it to life.” This truth highlights how critical it is to bring both the emotional energy of Passion and the clarity of Belief into alignment.

Belief, rooted in logic and reason, provides the structure that guides our intentions. It is the blueprint — the framework through which we give shape to our desires. Passion, on the other hand, is the fire that ignites the belief, the emotional fuel that propels our actions forward. Without belief, passion can become chaotic and directionless; without passion, belief can remain cold and sterile, never fully realized.

When Passion and Belief work together, they create a powerful force that not only attracts opportunities but also drives the necessary actions to make those opportunities a reality. The two forces, when aligned, ensure that the mind (Belief) and the heart (Passion) are working in harmony toward a common goal. This alignment forms a vibrational match with the universe, causing it to reflect the same harmony in your life.

In the Gospel of Thomas, Jesus shares a profound teaching that speaks directly to this union of Passion and Belief. In Chapter 22, he says:

“When you make the two one, and when you make the inside like the outside and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male, and the female not be female… then will you enter the Kingdom.” (Gospel of Thomas 22)

This verse teaches that true spiritual transformation occurs when the inner and outer worlds are aligned — when belief (the logic) and passion (the emotion) are brought into harmony. It is through this sacred union that we can truly experience the fullness of our potential, entering the Kingdom of God within, where all things are possible. When these two forces — the passionate and the believing — unite, the gates of creation open, and the world begins to reflect the inner peace and power we have cultivated.

In the Sacred Atlantean Brotherhood, ritual is not ceremony for ceremony’s sake—it is the living architecture of Consciousness made visible. For the Initiate Degrees (1–3), these rites establish the foundation of all spiritual work: Unity, Discernment, and Embodiment. Whether practiced alone or in a circle, the words remain the same. In solitude, the practitioner imagines the Christos asking the questions and answers with the disciplined mind. In assembly, the presiding Officer speaks for the Christos, and the Brotherhood answers as one.

Each path comes with its own Working Tools—not tools of physical construction like those of ancient builders, but instruments of consciousness, refinement, and inner mastery. These Atlantean tools help the soul shape itself, rise above illusion, and sail the great ocean of Being with awareness and purpose. According to Grandmaster WaXhira, each tool helps us remember Atlantis—the Soul—and return to our true center. What follows is a brief introduction to each degree and its corresponding working tools.

The first stage is that of the Initiate, encompassing Degrees 1, 2, and 3. This is where the soul awakens to the reality that it is not the body, not the mind, but something far more expansive. The Initiate’s Working Tools are the Ocean, the Wave, and the Ship. The Ocean symbolizes the boundless Cosmic Self—formless, deep, and eternal. The Wave represents Thought, the act of becoming, the first movement of energy as it expresses itself in form. The Ship is the Body, the sacred vessel that allows consciousness to travel across the sea of life. These tools teach the Initiate that while we ride in the Ship, and express through the Wave, we are always, in essence, the Ocean.

The second stage is that of the Navigator, covering Degrees 4, 5, and 6. Here, the soul learns how to consciously steer its earthly journey. The Navigator’s Working Tools are the Captain’s Wheel, the Compass, and the Anchor. The Captain’s Wheel symbolizes the Five Senses, which must be skillfully mastered to avoid being pulled off course. The Compass represents the Rational Mind—used correctly, it gives direction, not domination. The Anchor is the Breath, the stabilizer that grounds awareness in the Now. Without a calm breath, the ship is tossed in mental storms. These tools remind the Navigator that though the senses give us input and the mind plots our route, it is breath and awareness that keep us steady.

Finally, we come to the third and highest stage: the Captain, Degrees 7, 8, and 9. This is the realm of the awakened soul, whose purpose is not just to navigate life but to illuminate it. The Captain’s Working Tools are the Blazing Star, the Sextant, and the Bell. The Blazing Star stands for Intuition—the inner light of direct knowing, shining even in the darkest night. The Bell represents Conscience—the pure tone of the Soul that calls us home when we drift from our integrity. In life, the only thing standing between us and the life we desire is often our own belief system. The truth is, our beliefs shape our reality—whether we realize it or not. If we believe we are capable of greatness, that belief becomes the foundation upon which we build. But if we doubt our potential, if we create mental barriers that tell us we are unworthy or incapable, those self-imposed limitations block the blessings that are already waiting for us. As the famous quote goes, "Know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." Once we realize that the only true limitations are the ones we place on ourselves, the door to our blessings swings open wide.

Jesus once said, “If you believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” This powerful statement emphasizes the profound truth that belief is the key to unlocking the impossible. If you truly believe, there is no obstacle too great, no dream too far out of reach. Your belief will move mountains. The Koran echoes this wisdom, stating, “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” This underscores the idea that transformation starts from within. To change your life, you must first change what you believe about yourself and your capabilities. The Talmud also offers a reminder, “Who is rich? He who is content with what he has.” Wealth, prosperity, and abundance are not external conditions; they are internal states of being. When we believe we have enough, we experience enough.

Too often, however, we create limitations in our lives through doubt and fear. These limitations are not real; they are simply beliefs that we have accepted, whether consciously or unconsciously. Fear of failure, fear of judgment, and fear of the unknown all create walls that prevent us from moving forward. The mind is a powerful force. What we think shapes who we become. The thoughts that we harbor have the potential to transform our lives, as they are not only reflections of our inner state but also the forces that shape our reality. However, when our thoughts align with the divine, they carry an even greater potential for transformation—thoughts which are God-like should produce results that are more than human.

When we focus our thoughts on the divine qualities of God—order, harmony, power, wisdom, love, life, truth, and light—we begin to tap into an infinite source of creative energy. These divine qualities are not just attributes of the Creator; they are inherent forces that can guide our lives to a higher order and purpose. As we align our thoughts with these divine principles, we open ourselves to the universal flow of life, unlocking results that go beyond the human realm and transcend ordinary experience.

God is Order, Harmony, Power, Wisdom, Love, Life, Truth, and Light

To think in alignment with God-like qualities is to think in accordance with the universal laws that govern existence. Each divine attribute represents a principle that is essential for creating a life of meaning, purpose, and fulfillment. Let us explore each of these divine qualities:

Order: God is the ultimate organizer of the cosmos. Order is the foundation of all creation, ensuring that all things operate according to divine law. When our thoughts align with divine order, we find clarity, structure, and purpose in our lives, allowing us to manifest greater achievements.

Harmony: The divine embodies perfect harmony—the union of opposites, the balance between seemingly disparate forces. When we align our thoughts with harmony, we experience a sense of peace, balance, and integration. This harmony extends to our relationships, work, and all aspects of life.

Power: Divine power is the strength that transcends physical force—it is the ability to create, transform, and manifest from the heart of the universe. By aligning with divine power, we tap into a limitless energy that flows through us, empowering us to accomplish feats that are beyond human ability.

Wisdom: God’s wisdom is not limited to intellectual understanding but is the deep knowing of the truths of the universe. Divine wisdom brings insight and the ability to discern truth from illusion. By aligning our thoughts with divine wisdom, we unlock clarity, direction, and understanding that lead us to our highest potential.

Love: God is love, and love is the essence of life itself. Love is the energy that binds all things together, creating connection and unity. When we align our thoughts with divine love, we become vessels of compassion, understanding, and kindness, transforming the world around us.

Life: God is the source of all life—vibrant, endless, and dynamic. By aligning with the energy of divine life, we tap into a wellspring of vitality that sustains us, bringing vitality, health, and abundance into our lives.

Truth: God is truth, and truth is the foundation of all wisdom. When we align our thoughts with divine truth, we move beyond illusions and false beliefs, and begin to see the world as it truly is. Living in truth leads to freedom, authenticity, and fulfillment.

Light: Divine light is the illuminating force that reveals the hidden, dispels darkness, and guides us toward understanding. When we align our thoughts with divine light, we open ourselves to divine inspiration, clarity, and vision, seeing the world through a lens of spiritual awareness.

Humanity has forgotten its Source. We chase machines, education, power, and now artificial intelligence—but the deeper truth is older than all of these. In the beginning was the Word. The Word was vibration. Vibration is life. And life is the Ocean, vast, infinite, and eternal. This is the first working tool of the Initiate in the Sacred Atlantean Brotherhood.

The Ocean is not water alone—it is Consciousness. Atlantis itself. It cannot be corrupted, yet it reflects whatever we bring to it: harmony or discord, peace or storm. When we unite with the Ocean, we enter the first degree, the Degree of Harmonious Union. This is the awakening to the truth that all is vibration, all is Spirit, all is God.

Scriptures across ages confirm this truth:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.” (Qur’an 24:35)

“The Infinite is the ocean from which all streams flow, and to which all return.” (Zohar)

“All this is Brahman. From Him the universe is born, in Him it rests, and to Him it returns.” (Upanishads)

And the Book of Remembrance, our sacred scripture, reveals: “From the Ocean of Being came forth the Word, and from the Word came all forms, yet none are apart from the Source.” (1:3).

The Initiate’s ritual is to still the mind, breathe as the tide of the inner sea, and feel beneath every wave of thought the depth of the Ocean. Here we find peace. Here we hear the Christos—the eternal song of Being that the ancients knew.

This is not philosophy—it is survival. Without the Ocean, we drown in separation, anxiety, and despair. With it, we are carried into unity, freedom, and light. This is why the Brotherhood exists: to remind humanity of its forgotten Ocean and to guide seekers through the 9 Degrees of awakening, from Initiate, to Navigator, to Captain of the soul.

Do not settle for fragments. Do not live on the surface of restless waves. Dive into the Ocean. For here, all division ends, and the Initiate is reborn in Harmonious Union.
