    Jan 15 2023

    hi there!

thank you so much for listening to episode 6 of the Ready or Not podcast! We appreciate your listening and we hope that you found this as enlightening as we did. eating and all of the fads that impact how we eat and see food is important to be mindful of when you think abt fueling your body. so many different factors can negatively impact your relationship with food and your body, and that is why having open and honest conversations about it is such an essential part of ensuring that your body and how it sees food remains a healthy and positive space for you to be in. issues like eating disorders and disordered eating can be perpetuated by a multitude of factors - and we try our best to address, unpack, and healthily discuss each one and its long and short term impacts it has mentally and physically. we listen as Chiara shares her own personal experience and knowledge with us, and share our own thoughts and feelings that we’ve had along our changing relationship with food and how we’ve seen it.

like last week's episode - we talk about our experiences with eating disorders and disordered eating quite openly - so please be aware of that possible heavy or triggering content coming in.

    Jan 12 2023

    hi there!

thank you so much for listening to episode 5 of the Ready or Not podcast! thank you so much for listening and we hope you connected to and found kindness in what we had to say. society has come a long way in its knowledge and relationship with one's mental health and mostly it’s for the best. unfortunately though, despite this being the furthest we’ve come in a while, mental health and illness are still very stigmatized and avoided topics. the issue with avoiding it, however, is that it only worsens the problem, and leaves more people ill-equipped to handle the multitude of things that come along with them. Josip joins us as we talk openly about our own mental health journeys and how far we’ve come as well as where we were at the beginning and how we managed to better ourselves with time and compassion.

we speak openly and honestly about the ups and downs of our own mental illnesses, so we would like to preface that the episode does cover some heavy content; please be aware of that going in

    Dec 30 2022

    hi there!

thank you so much for listening to episode 4 of the Ready or Not podcast! we really appreciate your listening and hope you’re glad that this is what you chose to take in online. social media is as readily available now as it has ever been - meaning that our intake and mindfulness of it matter now more than ever. having so much content at our fingertips can no doubt be a force for good - but only if we make the effort to make it so. we talk about how our access to social media has influenced our lives, and how we each make choices to make the influence as positive as it can be. skills like critical thinking and social media mindfulness should be honed & practiced and we talk about why & how that can be done, so as to make sure that what we take in online is as good as it should be.

  • episode 3: authenticity and teenage life
    Dec 23 2022

    hi there!

thank you so much for listening to episode 3 of the Ready or Not podcast! Thank you for listening and we hope you found some comfort in our confusing experiences and perspectives on teenage-dom. It's no secret that ages 13-19 are rough - changing bodies, mindsets, expectations, and ideals are something that all teenagers can fall prey to, and that's why we think its especially important to create spaces to openly and safely discuss the full ‘teenage experience’. We talk about how we figured out our own teenage experiences and the other factors of identity that played into that as well as getting real and honest about teenage romance and sex - obviously a big part of the journey. That being said - Ruthie honestly discusses some aspects of her own experience of sexual assault, a difficult topic that we are both proud she could cover. Still, we also understand that this can be triggering for some. This conversation runs from 42:37 to 44:00 with a warning before we begin, so that you can be aware and mindful of that section in order to do what is best for you.

as per our usual disclaimer (and meant more so in this episode): we are not bashing any specific group of people or opinions, the aim of this podcast is to share new perspectives and ideas and we're just doing that for ours!

    Dec 17 2022

    hi there!

thank you so much for listening to episode 2 of the Ready or Not podcast! we really appreciate you being here and hope that you found us at the v least entertaining. now more than ever the effect that people on social media have on our lives is extremely relevant. how easy it is to take in and see what these people say as truth or idolize them for it makes us and everyone else online vulnerable to falling under their spell and losing more of ourselves as we do. we discuss the importance of thinking critically about the people who we give influence online, as well as the psychological ways that they can even have that influence in the first place. as teenagers, we love social media and seeing people interact and find communities online - but it's also important for us that we don’t let these single ideas and communities take over who we are and what we think.

  • Episode 1: femininity
    Dec 9 2022

    hi there!

thank you so much for listening to episode one of the Ready or Not podcast! we really appreciate your listening and your support and hope that our silly little talks meant something (or at the v least were entertaining) to you. our first episode means the world to us and our own femininity and defining/connecting to it is equally as important. whether you already totally know your femininity or have no clue where to begin, there is no harm in talking or learning more about all that it encompasses and connecting more deeply to it. femininity is sm deeper than just girls' stuff, and that's why we should talk abt it in its fullness.
