In today's episode, I will be switching gears and discussing pregestational diabetes in pregnancy. This is diabetes, such as type I and Type II diabetes that occurs before pregnancy. I will review the definitions of both types of diabetes along with the management by trimester of each type, as well as when we deliver, how we deliver, and how we manage the insulin therapy during the labor process.
