À propos de ce contenu audio

Hello, it's Tuesday 24 March 2026.

Lots of news - some of climbing roses have finally gone in the ground, the phlox has been split and replanted and the crated tulips have been relocated on top of the duck house to stop the rats eating the remains of them. As I no longer have squirrels on the field, this may be a safe place and I might actually have some tulips available for sale.

I had a wonderful visit from a podcast listener yesterday, the wonderful Carolyn from Home Close Flowers, who shared her experience of growing cut flowers and gave me a hands-on lesson in how to do a spiral hand-tie and wrap the resulting bouquet. It was an amazing practical lesson with lots of insider hints and tips. It was amazing to see how it's done and Carolyn was kind enough to bring me some stems from her garden plus all the materials to work with. I am always blown away by the kindness and generosity of some people, who really do just want to help and pass on their experience. Thank you, Carolyn.

Finally I answer some quick questions I've had about the difference between succession and batch sowing, the trays I use to sow my seeds, and the different times that I start sowing my hardy/half-hardy and tender annuals (and the logic behind this).

I hope you have a great rest of the week and that you'll come back and join me for the next episode - you're always very welcome.
