    • 3. "We're not supposed to bury our kids" - Segan & Lovina
      Mar 26 2025

In this special episode of PieceMAKERs, Max & Chan welcome Segan & Lovina, who have both lost their sons to knife violence.

The victims of knife crime often get overlooked in this country, not least the parents. Children are not meant to be buried, and it is becoming too normal. Segan, who lost her son five years ago, still lives near where her son was murdered, as well as Lovina, who lost her son last year, also lives where her son killed. They talk about why they haven't moved and the impact it has on their lives. The conversation deepens and covers the wider aspects as to why young people are feeling the need to carry, and to commit these crimes.

As part of our 100 Piece strategy, we are developing a Community Response Initiative (CRI), which will be solely aimed at delivering support to victims of knife crime, by providing counselling, advocacy, buddies and community.

To get involved with our campaign to make it stop, send us an email at info@makeitstop.org.uk, and subscribe to our newsletter for updates.

We have reached £17k in our fundraising efforts for our first intervention programme, going into a school in south London this year, any donation would be hugely appreciated to reach out £50k target. DONATE NOW.
