It starts with a 911 call about an intruder, a missing spare key, and messages that quickly escalate from crude to chillingly specific—referencing real-life details, a photo of Kristil’s husband, and a threat tied to something Kristil had already found on her vehicle. As Kristil documents everything—right down to a spreadsheet—and tries to secure an order of protection, investigators work to trace the source of the harassment.

Then, on December 14, 2023, Kristil is found murdered in her garage.

From there, the story takes a shocking turn as detectives follow the digital breadcrumbs: disabled home cameras, suspicious timing, and evidence that the “stalker” narrative may have been staged.
