Good morning. Oregon. I'm Aaron Jolly. That light drizzle hitting your windshield right now? It's just the opening act. A cold front is pushing through the state. And behind it comes the real show. We're looking at a 15 to 25 percent chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Any storm that fires up could bring brief heavy downpours, gusty winds. And even small hail. In the next 24 hours. In the Willamette Valley, you'll hit a high of 54 degrees. The best chance for thunder is between 10 A.M. and 4 P.M. South in the Eugene area, expect a slightly cooler 49 degrees with the same storm threat. You'll notice the feels-like temperature dropping to 41 degrees by mid-morning. Head over the Cascades to Central Oregon and the scene shifts. Rain transitions to snow above 4500 feet today. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 P.M. For the east slopes. We're expecting 6 to 10 inches of snow up high, with winds gusting to 29 miles an hour. If you're traveling over Santiam or Willamette Pass, check conditions first and carry chains. Tonight, valley lows dip to 42 degrees, while Central Oregon falls to 29. Rain showers continue. And here's something — tonight's full moon will be playing hide-and-seek behind those clouds. Thursday keeps the rain showers around with highs near 50. Friday stays wet too. But the weekend? Saturday looks like our driest day, with highs climbing to near 60 degrees in the southern valley. Rain returns Sunday and lingers into early next week. We're gaining over three minutes of daylight today. Spring equinox is just two weeks away. Charge your phone before you head out — that wind can drain a battery in no time. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
