New Orleans native Keith Spera has spent 30 years telling the stories of his hometown, especially its musical community. He's won numerous national feature-writing awards and was a member of The Times-Picayune newspaper's Pulitzer Prize-winning Hurricane Katrina coverage team. His acclaimed book “Groove Interrupted: Loss, Renewal and the Music of New Orleans” (2011, St. Martin’s Press) is an intimate portrait of some of the city’s most prominent musicians as they recover from adversity. In addition to his work at The Times-Picayune and its affiliated website, NOLA.com, he is the host/producer of "Let's Talk with Keith Spera," a weekly talk show on New Orleans public TV station WLAE.

Devin Snow is a New Orleans-area food influencer best known for his weekly series “RB&R Day” (Red Beans & Rice Day), where he travels across Louisiana and beyond sampling red beans and rice from mom-and-pop restaurants, corner stores, and hot plate lunch spots. What started as a college love for red beans & rice turned into a thriving social media presence after he launched a humor blog and later quit his car sales job to pursue content creation full-time. Whistle Monsta and Jamie Bernstein welcome Tracy Parket to the fan cave for Only Good Vibes News Network.

Familial ties and a sense of calling drove her journey to New Orleans in 2011. "New Orleans drew me here," Tracy shares, recounting how she followed her son to the city after her divorce. Initially involved in nonprofit youth healthcare, she later transitioned to cardiology and electrophysiology, where she felt she could make a deeper impact.

In 2024, Tracy was asked by the LSU New Orleans Musicians' Clinic to become the new clinician when the practice closed at LSU, she joined St. Thomas Community Health Clinic and continued to see her patients there.

New Orleans holds a special place in Tracy's heart due to its cultural richness and inclusivity. "It's such a non-judgmental place," Tracy observes, “everyone is free to be their most authentic selves in a way I’ve never seen anywhere else.” She speaks passionately about the sense of community at St. Thomas, describing it as a welcoming family that embraces diversity and authenticity.

Tracy's role extends beyond medical practice; it embodies her personal ethos of compassion and service. "I come from a humble background," Tracy acknowledges, noting her empathy stems from personal experiences of overcoming challenges and loss. This empathy shapes her approach to patient care, ensuring each individual feels heard and understood.

Tracy continues her mission of providing accessible and quality healthcare to her patients. She remains actively involved in ministry and participates in annual church medical mission trips, demonstrating her dedication to community, service, and holistic healing.

Outside of her work, you may also catch her at a local concert or art market due to her love of music and the arts for their ability to bring people together and enhance emotional well-being, viewing them as essential components of community and personal enrichment.

Tracy’s journey as a nurse practitioner exemplifies dedication, empathy, and a steadfast commitment to holistic healthcare reflects her belief in treating the whole person, enhancing both physical and emotional well-being. As Tracy continues to make a difference in the lives of her patients and community, her story inspires aspiring healthcare professionals everywhere.

This week on the Only Good Vibes News Network, Whistle Monsta and Jamie Bernstein welcome a rising voice in the New Orleans music community: Dylan Frechette, drummer, guitarist, bandleader, and lifelong friend of the show.

Dylan sits down in the Fan Cave to talk about his musical journey, from playing Willie Green’s drum kit as a kid on Oak Street’s Po’Boy Fest, to falling off the stage, to developing into one of Loyola University’s most promising young musicians. Joseph Makkos is a designer, print-maker, preservationist, and archivist based in New Orleans. Through the NOLA DNA Project he manages a rare collection of roughly 30,000 historic newspapers from New Orleans (circa late 19th to early 20th century) and is actively digitizing, curating, and re-presenting them for research, art, design and public engagement.
