À propos de ce contenu audio

At St. Paul’s the first Lord’s Day in May is “Confirmation.” In this episode we talk about what confirmation is for Lutherans. We address the questions asked—and promises made—in confirmation. As listeners will hear, there is a deep connection between the third article of The Nicene Creed and Baptism. In the Nicene Creed we confess, “. . . And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins. . .” In the Rite of Confirmation, the pastor asks, “Do you this day in the presence of God and of this congregation acknowledge the gifts that God gave you in your Baptism?” What do those things mean? What do they have to do with one another? What are those being confirmed actually confessing and promising when they are confirmed?
