  • A Conversation with WreckSploration
    Feb 4 2026

From conception to reality, its difficult to fathom how many lives crossed paths with the HNLMS K XI. For around twenty-five years, twenty which were in service, she would have had daily interactions with engineers, builders, service man, captains, crew, and various other individuals along the way. In September of 1946, this would all come to an end. A mystery would be born and this submarine would sit at the bottom of the ocean for close to eighty years. A lifetime without interaction, a lifetime waiting to be found.

In 2025 a team of dedicated divers known as WreckSploration would solve the mystery and through photogrammetry bring back to life the HNLMS K XI. In this episode, I speak with WreckSploration team members Gareth Glasgow and Martin Bovingdon as they take me through their journey in discovering this lost piece of history. A look into their methods, safety protocols, building a community and their goal of sharing wrecks with everyone. Please enjoy.

Dive shops are some of my favorite places. An atmosphere of learning, a melting pot of characters, an opportunity to discover new friendships. While spending some time at Tek Deep Asia last year, I had the opportunity to meet Priyamvada Tiwari. Originally from India, she came to Amed for training. It was great to have her on the podcast to hear her story of how it all began and how it's going. From Open Water to Instructor, Recreational to Technical, Local diving around India, a mission to see more women in the industry, and much more. Please enjoy.

  • A Conversation with Rinto Ariyadi
    Oct 15 2025

It was an honor to sit down with Rinto Ariyadi. Based out of Jakarta, but he can usually be found in the overhead environments throughout Indonesia. From his early days of diving to searching for water filled, underground passages, he has become an advocate for diving sidemount. One of his main goals is to make this configuration easier and more accessible for students to learn and instructors to teach. This is why he created The Java Sidemount System. Please Enjoy.
