Also, we take a look at where both the men’s and women's basketball teams are at near the midpoint of their seasons, and we talk about the building hype for baseball season as USM ranks No. 23 in preseason rankings!

Southern Miss hired Blake Anderson as the full-time head football coach on Thursday to replace Charles Huff, who recently left to take the head coaching job at Memphis. On this episode, we talk about how we feel about this hire for USM and also give a quick look-ahead to the New Orleans Bowl, where the Golden Eagles will be facing Western Kentucky on Dec. 23 in The Big Easy!

When Golden Eagle fans woke up on Saturday morning, they were met with several reports stating that head football coach Charles Huff is expected to leave Hattiesburg to be the next head coach of the Memphis Tigers. After just one season at Southern Miss, Huff is gone, but he’s leaving the program in a much better place than he found it. After USM went 3-9 in 2023 and 1-11 in 2024, Huff led the team to a 7-5 record in 2025, securing bowl eligibility for the first time since 2022.

On this episode, we discuss Huff’s impact during his short stint at USM and speculate on who could potentially be the next head coach for Southern Miss football. Also, how does Huff’s situation compare to Lane Kiffin leaving Ole Miss for LSU last week? Lots of good stuff in this one!
