    This week we take a look at a something that everybody needs should they wish to progress. Equally in personal endeavours as well as in their career.

    The subject of this episode: Clarity. The What and Why.

    What
    * The quality of being certain or definite: e.g. it was clarity of purpose that he needed…. Having a clear vision of what you want.
    * What is definite?
    * Knowing where your headed
    * The sailing analogy - head in a certain direction
    * Not like a motorbike. Dictated by the wind BUT clear in what to do if the wind changes
    * What is purpose?
    * Mia Mottley has a very clear purpose ie what she wants Barbados
    * Same for Dr. Andrew Holness of Jamaica
    * Example:
    How
    * How does one get clarity
    * Defining one’s purpose
    * What are you here for and how
    * would you like to be remembered when you leave this life?
    * What gaps are there between the current you that stop /hinder clarity?
    * What is the next step you can take to help bring about clarity?

    * Who are you? (Age,sex, colour)
    * What are you about? (Values/drive): optimism; creativity; authenticity;
    * Why should anyone hire you? (Hisense TV story)
    How
    * This is about being authentic
    * This is the real you
    * The answers to the previous questions essentially
    * Showing who you truly are
    * Define what you bring to the table
    * What are your strengths?
    * What have you accomplished
    * How have you accomplished it
    * What makes you stand out against other candidates?

    Accountability - What does it actually mean and how is it actually achieved?

    In this podcast we’re going to revisit a topic from a couple of years ago.

    A – Accountability
    * Mentoring; YouTube projects; family
    * Applicable professionally or privately
    Awareness, Acceptance
    What?
    * noun [mass noun] the fact or condition of being accountable; responsibility:
    * Responsibility for your job, your tasks
    * Not dependable on someone else
    How?
    * Also to stakeholders / internal - external customers
    * Issues are cleared up
    * Service is good enough
    * If not how can it be improved
    * Hands up for mistakes
    * Learning (Hannah-Mae)
    * Cultural environment
    * Mistakes are essential
    * Learning from mistakes
    * Open to improve or share when things haven’t gone well
    * Operational Excellence
    * Having an awareness of the importance of your role
    * Think about these things and write them down
    Conclude
    * Positive because:
    * Reliable
    * Trustworthy
    * Honesty
    * Adds value
    * Demonstrable worth
