What if we are the mountain in our own way? What if our thought patterns of the season we are in keeps us stuck going in circles?

'1You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. 2You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. 5You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Sunday February 8th, during the superbowl there were two halftime shows, the standard one set up by the NFL and it’s sponsors and an alternative one set up by Turning Point. This devotion is not about which side was right. But in all this debating and division, what is God saying to you? What is the Holy Spirit saying to you personally?

'39When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly, the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. 40Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”'

    Mark 4:39-41 NLT

    Hey Family

Whenever I read this part of Jesus calming the storm. I thought that Jesus was a little hard on the disciples. One. Because when I was a child, I feared thunderstorms. I can relate to that fear. Two, because of the perspective (viewpoint) I am reading from.

'When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. 'I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to give you countless descendants.” ' At this, Abram fell face down on the ground. Then God said to him, “This is my covenant with you: I will make you the father of a multitude of nations! What’s more, I am changing your name. It will no longer be Abram. Instead, you will be called Abraham, for you will be the father of many nations. I will make you extremely fruitful. Your descendants will become many nations, and kings will be among them! '

Part one of God's plan Greater than My plan.
'We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. '
    Proverbs 16:9 NLT

What we view as the best plan is often different from what God has in store for us.

Walls are another thing that can stop us from reaching out or people reaching in. Many things can cause us to build walls. Childhood trauma, church hurt, people hurt, etc. But i want to focus on walls we put up due to situations out of our control.

"Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. "
