Good evening. Mississippi. I'm Aaron Jolly. Seventy-eight degrees right now. That's not a typo. We're running a solid 59 degrees to 59 degrees above normal for early March. The spring equinox is still two weeks away, but nobody told the thermometer. In the next 24 hours. Tonight brings a full moon. If you're near the Gulf Coast, keep an eye out for widespread fog developing between 8 P.M. and 2 A.M. Lows dip to 63 degrees along the coast and 61 to 62 degrees elsewhere. A slight chance of an isolated shower pops up north between 11 P.M. and midnight, but most spots stay dry. Thursday keeps the warm theme going. Central Mississippi tops out at 82 degrees. Northern Mississippi hits 80. The Gulf Coast stays cooler at 74, thanks to that persistent onshore flow and morning fog that should burn off by 8 A.M. Enjoy the quiet. Because a pattern shift arrives Friday. Showers and thunderstorms become likely by Saturday, especially north and west of the Natchez Trace. Some storms could be strong to severe by early next week. We're watching a frontal boundary that stalls out and keeps rain chances elevated through at least Tuesday. The bottom line? The next two days are your window for outdoor plans. Highs in the low 80s, mainly dry. And nearly 12 hours of daylight now. Sunset tonight is 6:01 P.M. We're gaining about two minutes of daylight each day. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
