  • Missing or Cold: Bringing light to Loretta McCray Lynns cold case
    Mar 23 2026

Missing or Cold, hosted by Karen Dana, is a podcast born from the murder of her cousin Loretta McRae Lynn. Each episode shines a light on missing people and unsolved homicides while giving families a platform to share their stories and seek answers.

This episode focuses on Loretta’s June 14, 1988 murder in Mesa, Arizona, and the family’s long search for justice. Recent DNA work from under Loretta’s fingernails has produced surnames (Dooley/Duley or Hayes) and investigators are reprocessing evidence with hopes of using genetic genealogy to identify a suspect.

Karen urges listeners to review case reports and share any information with law enforcement. If you have information about Loretta McRae Lynn’s case, please contact Detective Thomas McKnight at 480-644-2012.

The podcast launched on March 20, the spring equinox, symbolizing the effort to bring cold cases out of darkness and into the light for closure and justice.
