  • Ep. 24 - The Old Lavaca County Jail
    Nov 13 2024

It opened in 1885 and for 120 years the walls inside this jail witnessed killings, suicides and historic floods. Now having stood for nearly 140 years, it is now a location known for vibrant paranormal activity. From disembodied voices to clanking cell doors to shadow figures, this tiny location packs a prodigious punch on the paranormal scale and definitely ranks as one of the most haunted locations in the state of Texas.

This episode was recorded live on location on Halloween night, our first ever Halloween investigation. We live streamed the first hour of the investigation and, another first for us, we investigated while wearing our Halloween costumes.

The majority of this recording was done inside the jail cell where a man hung himself in 1990. The building that this cell was in has no electricity. The sounds you will hear of the jail cell door opening and closing were done manually by turning a wheel. We received interaction through a K2 meter and some of what was captured on audio are found at these timecodes:

17:44 - The strong smell of coffee permeated in the main hall of the building

23:22 - Ernest asks, "Can you knock for us like this?" followed by 3 knocks

    23:36 - 3 knocks fading response

29:45 - Banging on the bars

    30:33 - Bang on bars

31:07 - Don asks, "Would you like the jail door open?"

    31:10 - Response, "Yes."

    42:44 - Unknown sound

    44:31 - Unknown sound

    45:54 - Unknown sound

    52:55 - Single faint knock

53:32 - Ernest asks, "Can you knock for us, like this?" followed by 3 knocks

    53:43 - 2 knocks response

    55:50 - Quiet bang

58:10 - Don asks, "Did your parents make you feel as though it was your fault?"

    58:14 - Light bang response

    58:31 - Light bang

  • Ep. 21 - The Magnolia Hotel
    Jun 25 2024

A structure in Seguin, TX that is nearly as old as the state itself nearly became lost to history but thanks to its current owners, The Magnolia Hotel is being restored. From its beginnings as a two-room log cabin to its pre-restoration reputation as being a den for vagrants and drug abusers, the building has been a stagecoach stop, brothel, rental units, witnessed deaths and has even played a small part in the tragedy of a 12-year-old New Braunfels girl’s death in 1874.

  • Ep. 20 - Sallie House
    Jun 11 2024

One of THE most haunted locations in the U.S., the home at 508 N. 2nd Street in Atchison, KS is a mix of history, lore and demonic rituals conducted in the basement of the home. The most recognized residents of Sallie House are the Pickmans who moved into the home in 1993 and for nearly two years endured the wrath of a “man hating Sallie.” When Misfit Apparitions stayed the night last November, what they experienced at 12:50 a.m. is still irreconcilable to the team despite every effort to debunk what transpired.

  • Ep. 19 - 1889 McInteer Villa
    Nov 29 2023

Irish immigrant John McInteer made his fortune manufacturing equestrian harnesses and saddles before having his beautiful mansion built in Atchison, Kansas.  The home would be the final resting place for a man committing suicide and a violinist peacefully passing away in a rocking chair.  Misfit Apparitions recorded this episode live while investigating this amazing historical home.
