À propos de ce contenu audio
There comes a moment in life when the honest response to everything you've ever been through in your entire life… is laughter. Usually this moment comes unannounced and feels involuntary, like a rush of a powerful sneeze, with no ability to hold it back. It's a laugh that holds it all; tears, screams, joy, rage, knowing, not knowing, love, fear, everything in between, peace, chaos, strength, vulnerability, and ALL the ridiculousness conjured into the recipe of life.
In this episode, we talk about the strange, wild, and almost maniacal laugh that can arrive when you suddenly get an inside view of all the absurdity you've carried through the first half of life.
Jody recently found herself bursting into a ridiculous, unstoppable laugh while reflecting on the intensity of everything she’s lived through, and the deep desire for the second half of life to feel more spacious, flowing, and less tangled in the world's nonsense.
The laugh wasn’t just funny. It felt like an invitation to a new beginning. We share how both of us have experienced a moment like this, a moment where something loosened and we could feel our essence more clearly, where life began to move with a different rhythm that feels lighter, and more deeply our own.
From that place, we explore what it means to enter the second half of life as women.
We talk about:
• The synchronicity of receiving a long-dreamed-of beach cruiser right after a breakthrough moment of laughter
• The powerful transitions happening in our forties
• How perimenopause may be less about loss and more about a personal rebirth
• Why women in this phase of life often grow fiercer, clearer, and more rooted in themselves
• How that strength can challenge and ultimately deepen our marriages and partnerships
Sometimes a wild laugh leads us to breaking the spell of the past to open the door to a life that’s calling us to come closer.
