Good afternoon. Michigan. I'm Jack O'Malley. Folks, that gray blanket overhead has been hogging the sky all day. But high pressure is muscling in from the northwest right now, pushing those clouds out like a bouncer at closing time. You're sitting at 40 degrees as we speak. By tonight. The stars come out. In the next 24 hours. Down in Southeast Michigan, the clouds hang on longest. A slight chance of a rain snow mix lingers before 7 P.M. Lows drop to 30 degrees. Watch for fog developing late, especially near the Ohio border and the Lake Erie shoreline. Could get dense by morning. Wednesday brings partly sunny skies and 46 degrees. Slide over to Grand Rapids and the skies clear faster. Tonight drops to 26 degrees under mostly clear conditions. Patchy fog possible early Wednesday, then sunshine owns the day. You'll climb to 54 degrees. That's the warmest spot in Michigan tomorrow. Up north, classic March. Mostly clear tonight, low of 28 degrees. Wednesday delivers full sun and 49 degrees with light winds. The kind of afternoon where you leave the heavy coat in the truck. Now the plot twist. Thursday, a low pressure system rolls out of the southern Plains and spreads rain across the state. South gets it worst. Friday into Saturday, a stronger system muscles in with rain and possible thunderstorms. Temperatures surge into the 60s by Saturday. That's nearly 26 degrees above normal. Your windows might actually open for the first time since November. Sunday clears out, mid 50s. Monday holds near 60 degrees. The spring equinox is two weeks away, but this weekend gives you the trailer. I'll be tracking that Thursday system closely. Plenty to talk about tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Take care! That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
