Good evening. Maryland. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you'll feel it right away. That damp, heavy air clinging to your coat like a wet blanket. We picked up two-tenths of an inch of rain overnight. And the atmosphere is still completely saturated. Fog is the real headline today, especially as we settle into the overnight hours. In the next 24 hours. Here's the situation. A stalled front is draped right across the region, creating this gray, murky setup. Baltimore Metro is sitting at a raw 43 degrees right now. And that number holds steady through the night. You'll see drizzle develop after 8 P.M. and it lingers into your Thursday morning. Central Maryland is nearly identical — 42 degrees with patchy fog and that annoying drizzle overnight. Head west toward the mountains and it's a wetter story. Western Maryland sees rain developing by evening, with a coin flip's chance on rain continuing overnight. Temperatures there also hover right around 43 degrees. Thursday brings more of that same murky feel. Baltimore climbs to 56 degrees. Central Maryland reaches 55. But out west, you'll notice the difference — Western Maryland surges to 61 degrees as warmer air starts nudging north. The story shifts dramatically by the weekend. That stalled front finally lifts. And warm air floods in from the south. We're talking 42 degrees to 42 degrees above normal for early March. Saturday could see highs near 70 in Baltimore and pushing toward 80 out west. The trade-off? Scattered showers and maybe a rumble of thunder Saturday afternoon. Sunday and Monday stay mild with highs in the mid 60s to near 70. A few showers linger, but nothing widespread. Tonight's full moon won't put on much of a show through all this soup. But hang in there. This weekend will feel like an early taste of spring.
