    Black beauty advocate Samantha Dixon Slawter has been fighting for 30 years for proper training for stylists who do Black and natural hair care. In 2019, she applied to the province to have the "Black Beauty Culture Hair Innovator" recognized as a voluntary trade in Nova Scotia, and earlier this month, the province announced it was doing just that.
