This week we stumble through the Gamescom announcements before tackling the age-old debate: was Sonic ever actually good, or have we all been victims of collective gaslighting since 1991?

Harrison’s item is utterly sabotaged by his wife’s perpetually late family, proving once again that time is the true final boss. We also take detours through Street Fighter 6 , Peak, Croydon’s Heart of Gaming arcade, and the haute-pad Cosmox C16 (a piece of kit that sounds less like a controller and more like a Soviet satellite).

In a shocking departure from sitting indoors and arguing, we actually left the house and went to VS Fighting 13. What follows is an “audio documentary” in the loosest possible sense: snippets of the event, our running commentary, and the faint sound of us pretending to know what we’re talking about.

Expect fighting games, crowd noise, and two bewildered Brits desperately trying to make sense of it all. It’s like being there yourself, only sweatier.
