No doubt USA will hurt financially by Canada's courage to seek new alignments but...WE/the WORLD WHO CARES, is GAINING a template for moving forward with newfound integrity, based in shared values and sustainability worth far more than the status quo. Integrity that is ESSENTIAL to life continuing on this earth. Thank you O Canada/Prime Minister for speaking truth to power that wants to keep us powerfess...and taking action per your POWER of INTEGRITY. Invaluable for all of us who are also "middle powers" daring to make a shift.

Elphaba, the so-called "wicked witch" of the movie Wicked, Part One, dares to follow her own integrity, her own SELF, rather than compromise her values, her talent, her personhood. Even though it means leaping into the unknown. "Something has changed within me," she sings. When have each of us dared to change our understanding of something, of ourselves, when our integrity is at stake?

Exerpts and commentary of the Declaration of Independence were uppermost in many social media posts the week of July 4, understandably. What kept firing in me is how imperative it is—actually it is incumbent upon us as citizens of USA, to reflect on what the words in that document mean, if/how they serve the common good--that is, serve ALL of us including earth, air, water, all creation—and what more could those words mean or what other words might further us in our cause of viable shared life?
