Dr. Amy Stevens, Ed.D., is a U.S. Navy veteran, Licensed Professional Counselor, and founder of Georgia Military Women (GMW)—a thriving online community of over 5,400 women veterans. With a passion for mental health and veteran advocacy, Dr. Stevens has created a powerful platform for sisterhood, resilience, and transition support across Georgia. Her military career (1979–1994) included overseas deployments, award-winning leadership, and groundbreaking work in Navy education and training. Post-service, she held executive roles at the U.S. Department of Labor and Georgia National Guard, and now continues her work in private practice and as a Disaster Mental Health Manager with the American Red Cross. Dr. Stevens has been recognized nationally for her impact, including features on Leading Ladies of Atlanta and honors from the Daughters of the American Revolution and UMass Boston’s William Joiner Institute. She lives in Marietta, Georgia, where she continues to lead, serve, and empower women beyond the uniform.
