  • D&N Livestock 5th Annual Bull Sale - Feb 25, 2026
    Feb 10 2026

Carlin joined me for another rundown of the D&N Livestock annual bull sale. With the 5th installment of the bull sale the Rajot family feels like their program is developing and taking the next steps to produce top quality. Check out the book:

    https://issuu.com/t-bar-c/docs/string_fe85f4ce38f930?fr=xKAE9_zU1NQ

The Rajot’s Ai’d over 2300 head in 2025. One of the key focuses is to provide the opportunity to purchase ½ and higher sibs for their customer base. With a repeat buyer percentage of >94%, that’s incredible and speaks to how easy it is to do business with the Rajot family.

    Bull highlights!

    35 american mades

    27 bloodlines

    Special feature ET bulls

Make sure to read more in the catalogue and talk there Rajots about their:

    Marketing assistance program

    BCK financing.

  • 57 - Part 6 - Canadian Livestock Judging Mini Series
    Nov 28 2025

A mashup that hits close to home for me! This mini series to close out Season 5 is all about Livestock Judging as a Canadian in the USA. This is a big time passion for me as I was fortunate to compete on several judging teams and earn scholarships towards my tuition. It was one of the best experiences of my life and helped sharpen my skills and talents expending far outside of winning a judging contest. Plus I made friends that are like family and got to see America through the windshield of a 15 passenger van.

My Sr College coach used to tell us, it’s not about being a judger, it’s about becoming a better stockman.

I have this broken into 6 parts with different guests. I had planned on maybe a 3 parter but as per usual, I talked way too much.

    The guests:

    Part 1 - Jack Oattes

    Part 2 - Riley Lafrentz

    Part 3 - Tyson Hertz

    Part 4 - Lance Leachman

    Part 5 - Riley Leeson

    Part 6 - Codee Kopelchuk

This was a treat to put together with some outstanding people in the business. A little bit of looking back and a little bit of the current situation, a great mix of perspectives and insight from all the guests.

  • 56 - Lifestock Services of Saskatchewan with Jason Pollock
    Nov 7 2025

An episode where we talk about something new in the cattle business! Well… maybe not new new, but I don't think lots know about the new regulations coming into effect and changes in the Livestock Services of Saskatchewan itself.

Before becoming an SSGA board member I did not know much about the LSS other than brand inspection services. Now, I heard about the new ideas and regulations coming down the line frequently and how we can do a better job in communicating these to everyday producers. These are not changes that should scare you, they are fairly straight forward and fit into the current management technologies that are being used on your ranch today, your cell phone.

The MyLifestock.ca platform could really advance how we utilize digital submission of manifests and help brand inspection processes. It is all on your phone anyhow, now you just don't have to scribble in the lines and let it self populate the repetitive information and organize the data. Cowboys swore they would never need cell phones, cowboys swore they would never need to learn how to text, cowboys swear they will now and forever fill in a paper manifest with a pen…
