  • Expunge US Veterans LLC - Larry Weglarz
    Jan 13 2026

In this episode of the Liberty Risk Podcast, Hugh sits down with Lawrence Weglarz, a U.S. Army veteran and retired police officer with 28 years of service, to discuss a critical issue affecting countless veterans: a dismissed case does not automatically disappear.

Through decades in law enforcement and military service, Lawrence witnessed how low-level offenses could permanently hinder a veteran’s transition back to civilian life. Many veterans successfully complete Veterans Court or similar programs believing their legal troubles are behind them, only to later discover their records still appear on background checks. The missing step is formal record sealing or expungement.

That realization led Lawrence to found Expunge US Veterans LLC, a Tampa Bay Area–based organization dedicated to helping veterans and first responders clear eligible criminal records at reasonable, transparent costs. Working with experienced attorneys who strongly believe in the mission—often waiving or discounting fees for veterans—Lawrence guides clients through the full legal process, from eligibility determination to filing with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and petitioning the court for final approval.

    This episode covers:

    • Why dismissed cases still follow veterans

    • The difference between sealing and expungement

    • How criminal records block employment and opportunity

    • Why clearing a record can restore dignity and freedom

Lawrence’s work represents a continued legacy of service—helping veterans move forward with the honor they earned in uniform.

  • Out of the Fire: The Rise of VetPhoenix with Navy Veteran Manuel Gomez
    Nov 2 2025

VetPhoenix was not built in comfort — it was forged in abandonment.
In this powerful episode, Billy and Hugh sit down with Navy Veteran and VetPhoenix founder Manuel Gomez, whose story embodies resilience, accountability, and rebirth.

After facing incarceration and being silenced by the very institutions meant to serve him, Manuel refused to let betrayal define his destiny. What began as survival in the shadows became a vision to transform despair into collective strength.

The name VetPhoenix carries that truth: out of fire and ash, we rise again.

From the moral injuries of war and the stigma of incarceration to the devastating toll of suicide among veterans, this conversation explores how one man’s pain became purpose — and how an entire movement was born.

Nemo Residuo — No One Left Behind.
Where systems failed, VetPhoenix built pathways. Where society turned its back, they opened doors.
