  • The Inescapability of Music
    Feb 17 2026

Preached by Jared Kress on Feb. 15, 2026.

Music is an incredibly powerful force that can be used for good or evil, and it is a unique instrument in the worship of God. Today, we will examine the inescapability of music in our universe, its power, and how it can be used as God intended.

May we understand the power of music as a God-given tool, and commit to using it for His glory.

As we consider the inescapability of music in the universe, we see:
    1. The Ubiquity of Music
    1. Man’s Song
    2. Nature’s Song
    3. Angels’ Song
    4. Jesus’ Song
    5. God’s Song
    2. The Power of Music:
    1. Peace for Saul
    2. Prophecy for Elisha
    3. Prisoner’s Song
    4. Permanent Praise

  • A Survey of the Development of Musical Worship
    Feb 10 2026

Preached by Jared Kress on Feb. 8 2026.

    Main Idea:
Each era of worship throughout biblical and church history has something to celebrate and has contributed significantly to what we now enjoy as “blended worship.” Blended worship should not simply aim to find a middle ground between extreme styles, but instead involve curating the best lessons learned throughout history.

    Challenge:
How can we learn from the best lessons and failures of history to have the most God-honoring approach to worship?

    Eight Eras of Musical Worship
    1. Personal & Priestly
    2. Tambourines & Tabernacle
    3. Psalms & Professionalism
    4. Synagogue & Study
    5. Christ & Creeds
    6. Transcendent & Theatrical
    7. Hymnals & Homiletics
    8. Digital & Distribution

  • Self Care & The Path to Peace | Psalm 46:1-9
    Feb 2 2026

Preached by Pastor Jared in his office on an inclement weather Sunday.

This week's Phony Family Proverb: "Self Care is My Path to Peace" (Psalm 46)

Main Idea While self-care is a helpful tool for maintenance, true and lasting peace is found only by making God our permanent refuge and centering our lives in His presence rather than in fleeting personal rituals.

The Challenge: Stop relying on "water bottle" self-care to save you from life’s storms and instead unashamedly point others toward the "River" of God’s presence by living with visible joy and persistent faith.

  • Discipline & Children
    Jan 19 2026

    Preached by: Pastor Jared Kress
    Title: Discipline and Children
    Text: Selected Texts

    Main Idea:
Parents raising children today are often met with strong judgment for disciplining their children. However, the Bible is clear that discipline is necessary and a sign of great love for our children.

    Challenge:
If you have children or grandchildren, how can you employ biblical principles when disciplining children you love? If you don’t, how can you relate this topic to your relationship with God?

    Three Components of Biblical Discipline
    1. Positive Instruction
    2. Warning and Admonishment
    3. Punishment

    The Goal of Disciplining Children
    1. Self-Discipline
    2. Build Future Men & Women
    3. Experience God

  • Inseparably Connected (Colossians 1:9-12)
    Jan 15 2026

Knowing God's will guides us to walk in a manner worthy of Him, and every Christian should desire to do so. Resist the temptation, throughout your life, to separate knowledge about God from actions for God. No church or Christian can claim to simply study God’s Word without “doing the Word.” Similarly, no church or Christian can build a healthy ministry and outreach apart from dependence on the knowledge of God revealed in His Word. What we understand about God should influence how we live and worship. Commit to seeking God’s will while walking worthy of Him, and you will grow in maturity.
