King Bob began taking shape around 2018, but the songs behind the project go back much further.
In this episode of Inlet Wire, I’m joined by Jackson McDonald from the Victoria band King Bob. Jackson talks about learning to record at home, bringing years of unfinished ideas together for the 17-song debut album Rookie, and how one of the band’s oldest songs became “Figure It Out.”
We also talk about King Bob’s Patreon, where Jackson shares demos, weekly covers and other work that happens between official releases.
Near the end of the episode, Jackson explains why thought and intention remain central to every King Bob song.
King Bob are currently recording their second album, with more new music on the way.
