À propos de ce contenu audio

Who is Jesus? When you hear the name Jesus, you might think a myriad of different things. Jesus might be a name you heard when you were a kid in Sunday school. Jesus might be a cuss word. Jesus might be someone you pray to occasionally. Jesus might be someone that christians are into. Jesus might be your enemy. What if Jesus was in fact the person He claims to be, the Son of God who is deserving of all our praise and worship?

On this show we will dive into the pages of Scripture to discover everything the Bible says about Jesus. We will do this through the study of the New Testament of the Bible chapter by chapter and read what it says, understand it in its ancient context, and discover how it can be applied in our lives. I am your host, Jesse Blair.

    • Anticipating Glory
      Feb 11 2026

Are there things in your life that you are anticipating? Such as, one more week and I’m on vacation. Woohoo! Or, I’m getting my tooth pulled soon. Yay! Or, what comes next is death and taxes. As christians, we live in anticipation for things to come, namely eternal life free from death and taxes. The Bible is full of anticipation. The whole Old Testament anticipates the arrival of the Messiah. The last half of Luke chapter one is the fulfillment of that anticipation being realized with the birth of John the Baptist and Jesus. And what is the response of Zacharias and Mary? Is it dread and hopelessness? Or do they burst out in song?

Thank you for tuning into the Jesus is Godcast. Feel free to reach me with prayers, questions, or comments at jesse@jesusisgodcast.com. In this episode, we will examine the last 42 verses of Luke chapter one and consider the following questions:

      1. John the Baptist was the last of the OT prophets. How can verse 41 summarize the role of prophets?
      2. Compare and contrast Mary’s song (46-56) and Zacharias’ prophecy (67-80).
      3. Verse 80 says that John grew and became strong in spirit. How do Christians also grow and become strong in spirit?

    • Two Miracle Babies
      Feb 6 2026

Do you have any kids? I recently just had my first. Thank you. Diaper donations are accepted as well as earplugs. Did you name your child or did you draw a name out of a hat? Who told you that you were expecting? Did an angel appear to you and did the angel tell you what the child’s name would be? In the first half of Luke chapter one an angel appears to two people and tells them that they will have a child against all odds and also tells them what to name their child. The first child will be the greatest person born up to that point and the second will be the greatest born ever, the Firstborn over all creation.

Thank you for tuning into the Jesus is Godcast. Feel free to reach me with prayers, questions, or comments at jesse@jesusisgodcast.com. In this episode, we will examine the first 38 verses of Luke chapter one and consider the following questions:

      1. Luke sought to write an orderly account about Jesus in the common language of the day. What does this tell us about the Bible?
      2. Both Zacharias and Mary were greeted by the angel Gabriel. Zacharias was troubled and fearful (12) and Mary was troubled at his saying (29). Why do you think they reacted in a troubled way to the visitations? How did they respond afterwards?
      3. What does verse 37 mean, “For with God nothing will be impossible?”
