This story won the David Lodge Prize in a competition organised by the National Association Of Writers' Groups (NAWG) and was published in their anthology 'The Write Path'.

Coincidences of time and place, encounters with strangers and life-changing moments of decision are the key elements of these stories.

Others, the overshadowing of two World Wars and the social dislocation that was, and perhaps still is, their legacy.
