    12] You say, I am allowed to do anything"-but not everything is good for you. And even though "I am allowed to do anything, I must not become a slave to anything.

    20] for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

  • "Get Your Affairs in Order With the Lord"

    John 8:1-11 NLT

    [1] Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives,

    2 but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them.

    3 As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.

    4 Teacher, they said to Jesus, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.

    5 The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?

    6 They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger.

    7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!

    8 Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.

    9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman.

    10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?

    11 No, Lord, she said. And Jesus said, Neither do I. Go and sin no more.


    Luke 13:1-5 NLT

    [1] About this time Jesus was informed that Pilate had murdered some people from Galilee as they were offering sacrifices at the Temple.

    Acts 19:11-20 NLT

    Acts 19 11 God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles.

    Acts 19 12 When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.

    🌟Acts 19:13 A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, "I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!"

    🌟Acts 19:14 Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this.

    Acts 19:15 But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, "I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?"

    Acts 19:16 Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered.

    Acts 19:17 The story of what happened spread quickly all through Ephesus, to Jews and Greeks alike. A solemn fear descended on the city, and the name of the Lord Jesus was greatly honored.

    Acts 19:18 Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices.

    Acts 19:19 A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars.

    Acts 19:20 So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.

    [38] John said to Jesus, "Teacher, we saw someone using your name to cast out demons, but we told him to stop because he wasn't in our group."

  • "A Form of Godliness"

    2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

    Isaiah 29:13-16 And so the Lord says, These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.

    14 Because of this, I will once again astound these hypocrites with amazing wonders. The wisdom of the wise will pass away, and the intelligence of the intelligent will disappear.

    15 What sorrow awaits those who try to hide their plans from the LORD, who do their evil deeds in the dark! "The LORD can't see us," they say. "He doesn't know what's going on!"

    16 How foolish can you be? He is the Potter, and he is certainly greater than you, the clay! Should the created thing say of the one who made it, "He didn't make me"? Does a jar ever say, "The potter who made me is stupid"?

    Matthew 23:25-28

    25 What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy-full of greed and self-indulgence!

    John 3:1-12

    [1] There was a man named Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader who was a Pharisee.

    [2] After dark one evening, he came to speak with Jesus. "Rabbi," he said, "we all know that God has sent you to teach us. Your miraculous signs are evidence that God is with you."

    [3] Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God."

    [4] "What do you mean?" exclaimed Nicodemus. "How can an old man go back into his mother's womb and be born again?"

    [5] Jesus replied, "I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.

    [6] Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.

    [7] So don't be surprised when I say, 'You must be born again.'

    [8] The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can't tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can't explain how people are born of the Spirit."

    [9] "How are these things possible?" Nicodemus asked.

    [10] Jesus replied, "You are a respected Jewish teacher, and yet you don't understand these things?

    [11] I assure you, we tell you what we know and have seen, and yet you won't believe our testimony.

    [12] But if you don't believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?


    🟣Luke 16:19-31 [19] Jesus said, There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury. [20] At his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores.

    [21] As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man's table, the dogs would come and lick his open sores.
