Welcome to a very special episode of Inbetween The Groove! While we were hard at work with bringing you the regularly scheduled Inbetween The Grooves content, a highly anticipated album dropped on May 13th, 2022. On that day, Kendrick Lamar released his 5th Studio Album, "Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. Now Kendrick's list of accolades from his work is many things: impressive, inspiring, and extensive. He's a highly revered rapper from Compton, CA who really started to make a ripple effect after the released of his second LP, " good kid, m.A.A.d city ." Ever since that album came onto the scene, The Grooves Boys were hooked. So when we learned of the 5th Studio Album's release date, we immediately made plans to record a special episode to highlight this new experience. Two days later, The Grooves Boys assembled to record a special episode with a quick turnaround time. As a result of this quick turnaround, this episode is less edited and less mixed than our usual installments. But we promise that it is still filled to the brim with engaging conversations, that promotes and celebrates the entire album listening experience. We just couldn't wait to talk about this amazing artist, and share it with you folks at home.

Your attention, please! Everyone take your seats and get ready for the forth episode of Season 2 of Inbetween The Grooves! In this episode, we'll be going to the theatre to listen to Hadestown. A musical that first came on the Broadway scene in 2019. Set in what appears to be depression era America, Hadestown takes two stories from the Greek mythos and adapts them into this setting. Originally a Folk Opera concept album of the same name in, Hadestown composer Anaïs Mitchell refines her piece to fit the big stage while maintaining its Folk Opera foundation. With intimate numbers, spine tingling harmonies, and a big band sound, Hadestown brings forth a musical Odyssey that you don't want to miss.
