  • The InSight Out Show | Ep. 153 | Why Everyone Saw the ICE Shooting Differently and What No One’s Talking About
    Jan 22 2026

Have we lost the ability to agree on what’s right and what’s wrong?

In this episode of The InSight Out Show, we’ll look at a moment in America that revealed something far deeper than policy disagreement — a society fractured at its moral core.

In early January, a woman named Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis after a confrontation. Within hours, two completely different narratives emerged — from righteous heroism to dangerous aggression — and both felt morally justified. That’s when we have to ask: Are we playing by the same rules anymore?

This isn’t just about immigration, policy, or politics. This is about a shared moral framework that once helped us live together — and what happens when that disappears.

    In today’s conversation, we explore:

    1. How the same event can lead to completely different moral universes
    2. What happens when intention replaces shared morality
    3. Why authority, responsibility, and consequence matter
    4. The danger of deciding moral rules for ourselves
    5. What Scripture says about our deceitful hearts and real moral grounding

We go deeper than the headlines — asking whether we have the same rules at all, or whether we are just arguing different games with different rulebooks.

    Scripture (NIV):

Jeremiah 17:9 – “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately sick. Who can understand it?”

  • Anchor Points | Ep. 152 | Why Was Everyone in the Wrong Line…Except Me?
    Jan 21 2026

Have you ever second-guessed doing the right thing just because no one else was doing it?

At the airport security line, Devin noticed something strange: two open lines, but everyone was crowded into just one. The other? Completely empty. And even though she knew it made sense to take the open lane, it felt wrong because nobody else was.

In today’s Anchor Point, Devin chats about a moment of hesitation that reveals a deeper spiritual pattern:

    • Why we doubt what’s clearly open in front of us
    • How the crowd can make us question the right path
    • What it takes to move confidently when others don’t understand

    Scripture (NIV):

Matthew 7:14 – “But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

  • Anchor Points | Ep. 151 | Digital vs. Print: Is Your Bible App Helping or Hurting Your Faith?
    Jan 20 2026

Are Bible apps helping your faith or making it harder to stay grounded in Scripture?

When you hear “turn to Luke 1:37,” do you reach for your phone or your physical Bible? Most of us default to digital these days, especially in group settings or on the go. But recent research reveals that when it comes to retention and clarity, print still has an edge.

In today’s Anchor Point, Devin looks at:

    • The ongoing debate between Bible apps and printed Bibles
    • What new studies are saying about comprehension and confusion
    • Why the way you read Scripture might shape how deeply it stays with you

    Scripture (NIV):

Luke 1:37 – “For no word from God will ever fail.”

  • Anchor Points | Ep. 150 | It Bothered Them… So Why Was I So Annoyed?
    Jan 14 2026

You weren’t bothered until they were.

Then suddenly, you're dragging someone else's frustration into your own spiritual space.

In today’s Anchor Point, Devin leads a faith exercise to uncover what actually bothers us, what doesn’t, and why we so easily take on other people’s stress.

This episode explores the quiet ways we adopt irritation that was never ours to begin with. Devin shares how faith can help us sort through the noise and stay rooted in peace.

    1. Why your peace does not need to match someone else’s pet peeve
    2. How to recognize when you are feeling something that is not really yours
    3. The prayer that helps you stay in your lane and walk with clarity

    Insight:

This is not about ignoring problems. It is about asking God to help you discern what is yours to carry. Let Him show you where your energy and focus are best spent.

  • Anchor Points | Ep. 149 | Quitting Was Impossible…Until I Prayed This
    Jan 13 2026

You know you're a smoker when you measure road trips by how many cigarettes you’ll smoke.

Devin knows this firsthand because she used to do it too!

In today’s Anchor Point, Devin opens up about her past as a pack-a-day smoker and the truth she learned about how quickly our bodies begin healing once we quit.

It might surprise people to hear she was once a heavy smoker, especially now, living a health-conscious, sober life. But back in the day, cigarettes were how she coped. Even into her early sobriety, quitting felt impossible.

But here’s what she didn’t know then… the body starts healing within minutes of quitting.

Even more importantly, God walks with us through the hard stuff. Devin clung to this promise:

“For nothing is impossible with God.” — Luke 1:37

In this episode, we talk about:

    1. Why quitting is hard, and hope is real
    2. How quickly your body responds to even small steps
    3. What it looks like to lean into God’s strength, not just willpower

    Scripture (NIV):

“For nothing is impossible with God.” — Luke 1:37

💬 What have you quit or tried to quit that felt impossible?

Was it smoking, drinking, sugar, people-pleasing?

How did God show up in your journey?

  • Anchor Points | Ep. 148 | I Wanted Quiet…God Wanted a Conversation
    Jan 12 2026

Have you ever prayed for peace and gotten the exact opposite?

Maybe it wasn’t a person, a place, or a thing. Maybe it was an experience you thought you needed.

In today’s Anchor Point, Devin explores how God sometimes says no. Not to punish or disappoint, but to lovingly redirect us toward something deeper.

We often pray for comfort and quiet and assume that is how faith should feel. But what if answered prayer comes in a form that stretches us and calls us to serve?

Devin shares a moment on a flight when she prayed for solitude and instead received a divine assignment. What followed was a lesson in action, surrender, and unexpected joy.

    In this episode, she shares:

    1. Why God doesn’t always give us what we want
    2. How faith is not just for comfort, but for connection
    3. The surprising ways answered prayers can grow us and bless others

    Scripture (NIV):

“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” — Psalm 145:18

💬 What is something you prayed for that did not turn out the way you expected?

  • Anchor Points | Ep. 147 | Your Boss Is Younger Than You - Now What?
    Jan 7 2026

Age is just a number, right? Until your new boss is younger than you.

Suddenly it feels like your little sister is telling you what to do. The comparisons start. The resentment creeps in. How did they get that position? What do they have that I don't?

When Devin started a retail training program in his mid-20s, he was excited and eager to learn. Everything was great until he met his supervisor. She was two years younger. And just like that, his pride hijacked everything.

The questions spiraled: How did she get associate level when I'm still assistant? Why am I reporting to someone younger? What is she doing that I'm not?

None of those thoughts helped. But one shift in perspective changed everything.

In this Anchor Point, Devin shares:

    1. Why age triggers our pride and comparison more than we admit
    2. What God actually cares about when it comes to titles and positions
    3. How remembering who you ultimately serve transforms workplace dynamics
    4. The freedom that comes when you let go of the comparison game

Scripture (NIV): Colossians 3:23-24 – "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

  • Anchor Points | Ep. 146 | Why Running From Discomfort Is Killing Your Faith
    Jan 6 2026

What do you do when life gets uncomfortable? Run? Avoid it? Pretend it's not happening?

Most of us spend our lives dodging discomfort. We change seats. We ghost the hard conversation. We numb out with whatever's available.

But what if God is actually meeting you in that exact uncomfortable moment you're trying to escape?

On a recent flight, Devin sat next to a woman who was completely drunk. It was barely noon. Her first instinct? Get away. But God had other plans. That uncomfortable seat assignment turned into a God-orchestrated appointment with a woman on her way to rehab, terrified and surrendering her entire life.

In this Anchor Point, Devin shares:

    • Why we instinctively run from discomfort and what we miss when we do
    • How God uses uncomfortable moments to meet us exactly where we are
    • What the cross teaches us about walking through discomfort instead of around it
    • A practical faith exercise you can try today

Scripture (NIV): 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 – "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

TODAY'S FAITH EXERCISE: Identify one uncomfortable situation you've been avoiding. Instead of running, walk into it while holding the Lord's hand. Notice where God meets you there.

💬 Let's talk more: What is that one uncomfortable situation you've been running from? How would it change if you knew God was already there waiting for you? Join the conversation in the InSight Out Community on Facebook 👉 InSight Out FB Group
