This week Cate and Bronte are joined by Olympic bronze medal boxer Harry Garside. In one of his most honest and vulnerable chats, Harry reveals how his relationship with boxing is changing, his battle complicated relationship with fame and overdosing in front of his mum in his lowest moment.
Harry takes us right back to the start of his career; from walking into his first boxing gym at just 9 years old to qualifying for Tokyo, winning a bronze medal. He also discusses his Paris Olympic campaign. Having publicly announced his intention to win gold, Harry was knocked out in the first round. He generously takes us inside that moment and the lessons he’s learned.
Harry is one of the deepest thinkers in sport and openly discusses his struggles with identity, masculinity and failure. He was also labelled a certified ‘baddie’ in the Village - and apparently that is a good thing.
I hope you enjoy the chat with Harry - and apologies for the audio quality.
We’d Love to Hear From You
