    586 BC: The Babylonians, under Nebuchadnezzar, stripped the First Temple of its treasures and then destroyed it.


    167 BC: Greek ruler Antiochus Epiphanes desecrated the Second Temple with the sacrifice of a pig, though he did not destroy the structure itself.


    70 AD: The Romans destroyed the Second Temple as prophesied by Jesus.
