Relationships are often presented as something stable and permanent: one best friend, one life partner, one group you belong to.

But what if relationships could be viewed differently?

In this episode, I explore how my perspective on both friendships and romantic relationships has evolved over the years. From being a "floater" between different friendship groups as a child, to building deep one-on-one connections in Vancouver, to now navigating life as a digital nomad, I've begun to see relationships less as permanent structures and more as companions who join us for different parts of our journey.

I share reflections on deep but time-bound connections, energetic versus physical closeness, why I no longer see friendship as needing constant contact, and how travelling the world has changed my understanding of support, community, and belonging.

I also explore the idea that while people may join us on our path for a season, a chapter, or even a lifetime, each of us ultimately has our own journey to walk.

In this episode, I talk about:

  • Why constant contact isn't necessary for closeness

  • Physical presence versus energetic connection

  • The idea of people joining different parts of your journey

  • Questioning the concept of one best friend or one life partner

  • Finding support and community across countries and time zones

If you've ever questioned traditional ideas about friendship, partnership, or belonging, this episode may offer a different lens through which to view the people who walk alongside you.
