In the winter of 1992, a poacher's blood trail leads Luna off the game trail near Packsaddle, West Virginia, to the foot of a collapsed railroad trestle called the Devil's Rib. There she finds an old man who tells her about the night in 1958 when a hunt went wrong and a boy named Elias disappeared into the hollow. The story she hears is about what hunts back — not bears, not deer, but something that learned to call back in a human voice. Luna leaves the trestle before dark, but she hears a sound behind her that she cannot explain: a whistle, two notes, the same ones the old man taught his son. No gore, no monster reveal — just the slow dread of a debt that has not been paid. This episode is about memory, silence, and the things that wait in the cold.
