In October 2025, the small town of Wilder, Idaho, experienced a seismic shift in its community spirit when federal agents conducted a massive raid at La Catedral Arena, a local racetrack. What was intended to be an operation against illegal gambling quickly escalated beyond its original purpose, impacting hundreds of lives and leading to a national conversation on immigration enforcement. Around 200 law enforcement officers from 14 different agencies, including U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, descended on the racetrack, detaining nearly 400 individuals, including U.S. citizens. Witnesses described scenes that felt like they were straight out of a movie, with families being separated and children zip-tied right in front of their parents.The aftermath was immediate and haunting. The Wilder School District reported a dramatic drop in student attendance the following day, with nearly 20% of students absent—twice the normal absentee rate
