À propos de ce contenu audio

Before we get to our first review, what may possibly be the strangest reboot of the year. As cool as that news is to us, the latest from The Conjuring universe has us more confused than excited. Of course, we talk about the Oscars and a new movie that is taking its cues from one of the greatest Frankenstein adaptations ever.

A few weeks back we discussed how divisive Jaws is. Specifically, we talked about how some people do not think it is a horror movie. This discussion has been going on since it was first released, and we will not be revisiting that today. But, there is no arguing that it is one of the most influential movies of all time.

One look at the poster for Grizzly Night will let you know what movie they had in mind when they made it. The trailer also looks like something from the animal attacks sub-genre. The film surprises by being a more character-focused affair. There are some missteps along the way, leaving us both with different opinions.

Our feature presentation is a psychosexual thriller from the Sundance Film Festival. Despite its provocative name, we knew that Night Nurse was not going to be a throwback to the erotic thrillers of the 1990s. We were shocked by what we did get, however.

There are some uncomfortable moments and great ideas, but Night Nurse is more confusing than anything else. And not in the way that promotes discussion. It simply does not make sense. There are no clear motivations, scenes begin in the middle, and the ending falls flat. It may all be intentional, but none of it works.
