À propos de ce contenu audio

Two Midwives, Zero Filter.

We’re sick of the polished “blessed journey” version of pregnancy and parenting. The truth? It’s often very hard. Birth can be traumatic. The postnatal period is brutal. Parenting is relentless. And everyone’s pretending they’re fine when they’re actually falling apart.

So we’re telling you what really happens. The mortifying stories from scan rooms and labour wards, the myths we’re desperate to kill off, tales of pregnancy, birth, parenting disasters and listener confessions that will make your toes curl!

We are Gayle and Eva - two midwife sonographers with over 50 years of experience between us. I’m (Gayle) chaotic, ADHD diagnosed (and medicated!), a health visitor in my 9-5. Eva is organised, a professional over-thinker, and owns a pregnancy ultrasound clinic in Glasgow where we both work. We are complete opposites - my chaos versus Eva’s order - but we share the same dark sense of humour, which is what carries us through the difficult times. And instead of seeking therapy like any other normal adult would, we decided to start a podcast.

Expect dark humour, too much oversharing, and genuine warmth underneath it all. We laugh at inappropriate times because if we don’t laugh, we’ll cry.

Whether you’re pregnant, been through it, a parent that’s winging it on the daily, work in healthcare, or just appreciate honest conversation - welcome. You’re not alone in the mess.

New episodes weekly. All patient stories are anonymised. This isn’t medical advice, but it is the truth.

    • Episode 2 - Family Dynamics Unlocked……
      Feb 3 2026

In episode two we are talking about family who think they’re entitled to immediate access to your baby, partners who forget whose side they’re on when their mothers start making demands, and the friction between you and your partner that’s completely normal but nobody talks about.

Plus we’ve got thoughts on the Beckhams this week and some valuable advice for wee Vicky, a confession of the week that’ll make you feel better about your own family drama, and Gayle reveals something petty she did years ago to a senior midwife who crossed her. Let’s just say there’s a left shoe that’s never been seen again and if you’re thinking about being a cow to Gayle - don’t.

If you’re pregnant, postnatal, or just want to hear two midwives with zero filter talk about the reality of having a baby and family life, this one’s for you.

      Jan 19 2026

Two midwives with zero filter telling the REAL truth about pregnancy, birth and parenting - not the Instagram version.

This is Episode 1. Meet Gayle (chaos, ADHD, health visitor) and Eva (organised, runs a scan clinic in Glasgow). We're complete opposites but share the same dark sense of humour. Instead of seeking therapy like normal adults, we started a podcast.

      In this episode:

We introduce ourselves (and immediately overshare)

Why Instagram's perfect pregnancy culture grates on us

Confession of the Week: a mortifying membrane sweep story

We're sick of the polished "blessed journey" content. Pregnancy is hard. Birth can be traumatic. Parenting is relentless. Everyone's pretending they're fine when they're falling apart.

      Here's the truth. No filter.
