Sam tells his story of how he became a software engineer from a nontech background. He started by making macros for excel to automate tasks for himself and others. He crashed a software engineering conference and was inspired by what he saw. He moved to a hacker house in San Francisco where the software engineers in the house advised him to a coding bootcamp. He chose App Academy. He found his first job by getting recommended by people in the hacker house.  

Malcolm leaves the comfort of home in Jacksonville, Florida, uproots his life and drives across the United States to Seattle, Washington to start the coding bootcamp Coding Dojo. He talks about why he did it, and what challenges he faced that the bootcamp did not prepare him for. He shares a little trick for how he went from getting no interviews to 20 interviews.

Wenyu tells us his story about teaching English in Sumatra, backpacking around the world while working freelance, and how his travels have continued and changed ever since working full time.

Ivy tells us about how she went from working in fashion to being a software engineer. She attended the bootcamp Hack Reactor, hussled her way into a job, eventually worked at Twitter, where they knowingly hired her without giving her actual work to do. These days she is the founder of belugadesigns.co.  

Greg and Missy tell us about how they decided to sail around the world, how they purchased an old boat, spent over a year fixing it up, crewed with a famous sailor and traveled around the Americas.
