    Online Marketing for Extraverts

Even though I’m always open about the fact that I’m an extravert, I know most of my podcasts aim to reassure and support the introverts in my audience. I’m all about inclusion, and I want everyone to feel seen, especially since a lot of the online business space is built with introverts in mind. But in this episode of the Heart-Centred Business Podcast, I want to speak directly to my fellow extraverts. I don’t think people realise just how hard working online can be for us – especially when connection is what gives us energy.

If being around people is your number one battery charger, suddenly working alone from home can be so draining. That’s what I want to talk about today: how extraverts can thrive in online marketing, even when most of the advice out there comes from introverts – and often, for introverts.

Why Most Online Business Advice Is Made for Introverts

I’ve noticed something: so many of the most well-known online business owners are happy, successful introverts. In Australia, we have Denise Duffield-Thomas, Leonie Dawson, Tina Tower, Emily Osmond, and Julie Parker – all introverts. In the US, there’s Rachel Rodgers, Marie Forleo, Amy Porterfield. Honestly, it’s hard to think of extraverted women who are prolific in the online space.

A lot of times, people are surprised to find out that folks like Denise are actually introverts because they’re such prolific content creators. But the truth is, the structure of online business – where you can create content from your couch and connect with people digitally – tends to be much more introvert-friendly. You don’t have to be “on” with a crowd of people all day; interaction can be curated and limited.

Because of this, it’s easy for extraverts to accidentally build their businesses in an introvert-friendly way, simply because that’s what’s being modeled for them. Suddenly, you realise you’re isolated, feeling low on energy, and missing that face-to-face contact.

    Top-down vs Bottom-up Marketing Strategy

There are so many ways to grow a business online, and with all the advice flying around, it’s easy to get lost in strategy-hopping and trying a bit of everything. In today’s episode, I’m diving into something that doesn’t get talked about enough: the difference between top-down and bottom-up marketing strategy. If you’ve never considered these two fundamental approaches—or you’re not sure which one is right for you—this chat will help you figure out how to build a business that feels good and gets momentum.

Why Picking a Marketing Approach Matters

It’s totally normal to experiment with different strategies when you’re building a business. But if you’re constantly half-committed to lots of different things, none of them gets the time and energy it needs to work. You end up juggling audience building, offer-creating, social media, and wondering why nothing is really working. Your strategy needs legs—it should feel exciting and fit with your goals, your energy, and your lifestyle.

Honestly, any marketing strategy can work. I love tinkering with business models and strategies and have been obsessed with this stuff since I was young. University, consulting, working with thousands of entrepreneurs—trust me, you can make most strategies work, but only if you really commit and finesse the path.

But, there are two big-picture methods you need to choose between: top-down and bottom-up strategy. Each comes with its pros, cons, and is a better fit depending on your resources and your goals.

Make Your Marketing Strategy Work for You

One of the things I absolutely love about my business is the huge variety of people I get to meet. So many different personalities, business strategies, niches, and ways of showing up. Everyone has their own perspective on service and the gap they want to fill. It’s why it’s so frustrating to see people stuck on doing their marketing the same way as everyone else, and struggling to make their marketing strategy work for them.

The truth is: your choice of marketing strategy needs to be as unique as you are. So, in today’s episode of the Heart-Centred Business Podcast, we’re diving into how you can make marketing actually fit YOU — because business gets really fun when your strategy is designed around who you are.

Learning From Others… But Making it Your Own

I’ve learned so much from other people, and there are a ton of smart business owners in the world. People have come up with all sorts of creative ways to grow audiences, nurture leads, and make sales. There are even businesses and services out there I didn’t know existed — solutions to problems I hadn’t thought of.

But every strategy, model, and tip I hear has to pass through a filter: is this a good fit for me? Not just for my business, but for me as a human. I think this is the piece that’s missing for a lot of people in business. We’re so quick to adopt what someone else is doing, but rarely stop to ask, “Will this actually work for me?”

  • #501: Three things I'm doing differently in 2026 and why - Tash Corbin, Heart-Centred Business Podcast
    Jan 6 2026

Full article and links available at: tashcorbin.com/501

Happy New Year! It’s 2026, and this is the first episode of the Heart-Centred Business Podcast for the year. I’m so excited to be back and to share a little behind-the-scenes look at three things I’m doing differently in 2026 and—most importantly—why I’m making these changes. My hope is that you’ll leave this episode feeling inspired, with some juicy ideas for your own business.

Make sure you also check out the links in the show notes for some special resources mentioned in this episode!

Let’s get into the details of what’s changing for me this year...

    1. I’m Getting Louder, More Prolific, and Even More Focused

This might sound like a simple resolution to just “show up more,” but it runs much deeper. In the past, whenever I felt inspired to be more vocal in my business, it usually came from wanting to speak up against the more problematic sides of the business world, or to offer an alternative to what I wasn’t happy with in the industry. I wanted to disrupt, to put more money and financial power into the hands of women and marginalised people, and to challenge the narrow definition of who gets to be a successful CEO.

Those intentions are still here—but in 2026, things feel different. The energy has shifted. I’m now far more focused on speaking directly to YOU, the individual. I want to help tens of thousands of people build more economic wealth, find and fill the tiny but important gaps in their business strategy, and make small shifts that lead to big results. I’m fired up about helping you leverage your energy and effort in your business—finding those key leverage points where just a little tweak delivers outsized results in your marketing, sales process, offers, or messaging.

  • #500: I made it to 500 episodes! Answering your questions… - Tash Corbin, Heart-Centred Business Podcast

Celebrating the Messy, Joyful, and Real Side of Business

Welcome, beautiful entrepreneur! I honestly can't believe I’m saying this, but this is episode 500 of the Heart-Centred Business Podcast. Today’s a bit different. I’ve spent the last few weeks collecting your questions for a mega Q&A session. We’ve got a lot to cover, so let’s jump right in!

I’ll be mentioning past podcast episodes and sharing free resources as we go, so if something sparks your interest, you can find all of those juicy links below.

So, first up—a little honesty. When I posted about approaching 500 episodes and asked for your questions, I didn’t exactly get an avalanche in my inbox. And guess what? That’s totally okay. I share this because I think there are two big lessons here.

First: people find it hard to ask questions when you’re vague. I literally said, “Hey, it’s episode 500, ask me anything!” But if you’ve ever been put on the spot, you know: the broader the ask, the harder it is to come up with something specific.

Compare that to when I asked for questions about planning and productivity—I got tons more, simply because I gave some context. So, takeaway one: generic questions are tough for people to ask.

Second: don’t fall into the trap of making up stories about a slow response. I could have spun it that nobody wanted to hear from me anymore, or that I’d already answered every possible question. But I know people will listen, enjoy, and maybe hear something fresh, even if it’s a question I’ve covered before.

Bottom line: don’t make crickets on social media mean more than they do. Even if you see someone with a big audience getting little engagement, it doesn’t mean “nobody cares.” Don’t let that get you down!

  • #499: Three times my ego sabotaged my business - Tash Corbin, Heart-Centred Business Podcast
    Dec 28 2025

Full article and show notes available at: tashcorbin.com/499

Let’s Talk About Ego, Growth, and Getting in Your Own Way

This episode is definitely more personal—maybe even a little vulnerable—but I promise, it’s not as negative as it sounds. I’m going to walk you through three times my ego tried to steer the wheel in my business… and what actually happened as a result. If you see yourself in any of these stories (and I reckon you might!), I hope you’ll find them insightful and maybe even a bit comforting as you navigate your business journey.

    Why Talk About Ego Sabotage?

I want to start by saying I don’t see the ego as all bad. Sometimes, as women or as folks from marginalised communities, we’re told that ego is something negative—something to suppress or avoid. But actually, my ego helps me set big goals, aim for high standards, and challenge myself to do better.

That said, in these three specific areas, my ego totally sabotaged my results! Once I could see it clearly, I could do something about it. So, I’m not beating myself up, but I am being real with you about how this stuff shows up and how I dealt with it.

Lessons From a Year of Social Content

I love doing a big review of my social media at the end of each year—what worked, what didn’t, and the lessons I can carry into the next year. Since it’s the end of 2025, I want to share what my best-performing posts have been this year and, importantly, what they teach us about using social media in a heart-centred business.

How I Review My Social Media (And Why I Don't Micro-Analyse)

Before I dive into my top posts, I want to ask—do you ever review your own top and lowest performing posts? In my business, my fabulous assistant Didi pulls together the top 10 and bottom 3 Facebook posts each month. Facebook is my main platform, so that’s my focus for analysis.

I don’t check these every single month. If I did, I’d end up overanalysing, second-guessing myself, and maybe tweaking things that only needed a bit of patience. A quarterly or annual review is so much more useful. It’s where themes and patterns really reveal themselves.

Eight Post Types: What Performed Best in 2025

I want to walk you through the eight types of posts that landed in my top results for the year—and share what they can teach you about using social.

  • #497: Business advice shopping - smart or sabotage? - #Tashmas Day 12 - Tash Corbin, Heart-Centred Business Podcast
    Dec 11 2025

Full article and show notes available at: tashcorbin.com/497

Business Advice Shopping – Smart or Sabotage?

Today, we’re talking about whether shopping around for business advice is smart, or if it could actually be sabotaging your success. Spoiler: It’s a bit of both! I want to help you work out when it’s genuinely strategic and when it’s a sneaky form of procrastination or self-doubt.

This is also the last day of #Tashmas – day 12! I’ve got a special gift for you at the end of today’s episode, so stick around for that.

    Wait… What is #Tashmas?

I do it for both my birthday (1-12 March) and pre-Christmas (1-12 December) every year! Every day up to the 12th of December, there will be a new daily podcast episode, with a hot tip or practical strategy as per usual… but you ALSO get a gift! The daily gift could be a freebie, a special offer, a competition… but there will be something for YOU every single day.

Why Shopping Around Makes Sense (Most of the Time)

Let’s be real: not all business mentors, advisors, or coaches are created equal. There is a massive range of pricing, strategies, personalities—everything. You can pay anywhere from $100 to $50,000 for a single session! So yes, most of the time, shopping around, asking questions, and following a few different people is a smart thing to do.

For example, when Davey and I first started dating, we went TV shopping together. We went to every TV shop on the Sunshine Coast. After finally buying a TV, we drove past another store Davey had forgotten about... and lo and behold, the perfect TV, $25 cheaper! We returned the first TV just to get the cheaper one. I told my flatmate I wasn’t sure I could date someone who needed to shop around that much—was it a red flag? In the end, Davey even brought up the story at our engagement party as proof he knows the value of shopping around, but it did NOT land well with the crowd. Seriously, people started heckling his speech. (He rescued it with some mushy sentiments, thankfully.)

So yes, I’m all for smart shopping around… but there’s a limit. Let’s not go full Davey when it comes to your business!

    When Shopping Becomes a Sabotage

Here’s where things get messy: at some point, shopping around for advice or strategy moves from being a wise, empowering move to a way of derailing ourselves. How do you tell when it’s crossed the line? And what if you want to buy something without shopping around—how do you know that’s not sabotage in its own way?

Let’s break it down with a few real-life examples and some questions to keep you grounded.
