This episode starts with “Are we ready” and somehow ends with the same question.
Tom and Bernard talk about Ipswich away, which is hard to say, set off at six in the morning, decide the game was boring, and confirm that Blackpool lost. There is pie talk, pint prices, coughing, and an announcement that Tom may be heading for the old people’s home.
There is an incident at Ipswich that nobody enjoyed, followed by a long stretch where nobody can remember who went with them, who Dad is, or who Dan might be. Dad is eventually found. Dan remains a mystery. Someone breaks the microphone.
The episode then jumps to Wigan where Blackpool win two nil, there are no pies at all, sweets are eaten instead, tickets are forgotten, and Bernard loudly shouts Up the Pool in a car park full of Wigan fans.
Several attempts are made to finish the podcast. They do not work. There are warnings about false teeth, smoking, being quiet at football, and who is allowed to talk. Eventually the episode ends with Over and out, followed by more talking, and then Up the Pool one last time.
Nothing is in the right order. Everything is said at least twice. That is the episode.
