Hindsight Part 2: Healthy Hindsight & Heaven’s Cancel Culture

Are you a prisoner to your past or is it a weapon for your future? In Part 2 of our "Hindsight" series, Pastor Ben Lehew explores how to look back in order to move forward with freedom and power.

While the world uses "cancel culture" to blacklist people for their past, Pastor Ben shares the beauty of Heaven’s version of cancel culture. Based on Colossians 2:14, we see that Jesus has already canceled the debt of sin that stood against us, nailing it to the cross.

In this message, you’ll learn three practical steps for healthy hindsight:

1. See it for what it was: Stop "romanticizing your bondage" or watching the "highlight reel of hell." Tell the whole truth about past seasons—including the pain and compromise—so you can truly be free from them.

2. Say goodbye to what can’t stay: God doesn't want you to erase your memory, but He does want you to stop giving the past power over your future.

3. Break the cycle: If you've been circling the same mountain of struggle for years, it’s time to stop the cycle and "turn north" toward God’s promised land.

Don't let the enemy narrate your story. It’s time to align your perspective with Heaven and say "Canceled" to every hurt, failure, and struggle trying to hold you back.

👑 Heaven Came Down: I Woke Up At Bethel Jacob was the ultimate "church kid" with a crooked heart, running from his past mistakes—a deceiver, a cheater. He was alone, afraid, and sleeping with a stone for a pillow when everything felt uncertain. But in that dark, "wrong place" called Luz, God showed up. Heaven invaded his crisis! The ladder wasn't a staircase for Jacob to climb to get good enough; it was a Savior descending to meet him right where he was. The place didn't change; Jacob's awareness did. He woke up and realized, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it". That place of mess became Bethel (House of God). The truth is: God’s plan began before your worst decision and continues beyond your biggest mistake. Jesus is the Ladder.
