À propos de ce contenu audio

Two pioneers of the “Global Health Diplomacy” movement - Eric Goosby and Ben Plumley reveal the inner workings of how decisions are made affecting the health of millions of people around the world, and how the principles of international collaboration and equity serve as a foundation of humanity’s response to the seismic geopolitical shifts and pandemic threats our world now face. Eric and Ben ask tough questions of their guests and share their own strong opinions - though always through the grace and diplomacy of their craft.Ben Plumley Politique et gouvernement Sciences politiques

A Shot In The Arm Podcast is five years old! And to celebrate this milestone, we present a special Global Health Diplomats joint episode, where Ben is joined by Ambassador Eric Goosby and Professor Anthony Fauci to reflect on what lessons - if any - the world has learned from COVID (remember that?) for pandemic preparation. Plus a special surprise for Tony from the world-leading local community health center serving San Francisco’s most marginalized populations.

    • Are Hospitals Now Weapons of War?
      Dec 16 2023

From Ukraine to the Middle East, healthcare has become a primary target in military strategy. Is this a new development or just that the 24 news cycle is making us more aware? Eric and Ben explore the responsibilities of all sides in conflicts - and how global health diplomacy cannot ignore the destruction of healthcare.

We are delighted to be supported by the John C. Martin Foundation, in honor of our friend John - one of the world’s most influential health diplomats.
