This week we welcome the multifaceted gem of a human, the lovely Crystal Jae (aka:CriticallyCrystalJae). She has quickly become one of our favorite people on the deconstruction side of Tik Tok, ever since we first saw her in a live stream telling a man to shut the fuck up, in the sweetest voice. We knew at that moment, we would be friends. We had a few audio struggles but you will NOT want to miss finding out what Crystal and Mike Tyson have in common, or who's coffin she plans to dance on!

Learn how she went from being a Methodist, (boring af), to a Quaker (which sadly has nothing to do with oats... we checked) to a staple in the religious deconstruction community!! So tune in... or else God won't build you a new uterus or spot you money for cigarettes.

It's part 2!!! We talk with the queen Tara Herbert from Pouty Mouth Podcast about leaving Mormonism, surviving Utah, and finding humor in the absolute weirdness of religious control. From growing up with body neutrality to having that unravel under garments, missions, and relentless modesty policing, Tara breaks down how purity culture, pressure to be thin, and the rush to become a perfect Mormon wife at the ripe age of 18.

We get into the contradictions that make religion so insane once you’re out: women’s bodies and blood being labeled dirty while everyone’s taking shots of Jesus' metaphorical diva cup, religions crediting men with creating life despite… literall everything in observable nature. And why the Garden of Eden being in Jackson County, Missouri should’ve been a red flag. Tara reflects on what it was like being Black at BYU, dating within Mormonism, and navigating a religion and region where whiteness is the default.
