Coming back from an extended hiatus with the penultimate episode of Games 105, season 1! Sorry for the wait guys, but this one’s a fun one. Abi, Brogen, Rowen, and Tori have each chosen a game to discuss this time around, but rather than focusing on the story of the game, we’re going to take a look at how games are created, what economic, social, and developmental pitfalls can get in the way, and what that says about what we as gamers value in the games we play.

It would be impossible to sum up the entire lore of a centuries-old myth in just an hour, but by golly, Rowen, Brogen, Tori, and Abi will try. Even though the myths persist over time, they keep changing. Why is that? Why do we hold on to some aspects of the myth and let go of others? What does the way that we tell stories say about our culture? Join us as we try to answer at least a few of these questions.

Lots of things to talk about today in the immense expanse of the Legend of Zelda, though Rowen, Brogen, Tori, and Abi are going to be focusing specifically on Breath of the Wild. How does a video game reflect on the cultural history of its creator? We continue last episode’s theme by contrasting Elden Ring’s darker visuals with the brighter tones of Breath of the Wild, and reflecting on how that affects the gravity of the two stories.
