What does pre-launch look like ?
- Prepare marketing
- Research, create, edit and upload episodes
- Create trailer. Use trailer to get into podcast directories
- Need to allow at least 3-4 weeks to get into big directories
- Setup website if do not have one
- Decide on podcast host
- Reviews of dashes
- Review of marketing stats
- Launch marketing plan
What does a launch week look like
- 3-5 Completing Episodes ready to go live
- Informed community ready to get content as you have spent 3-4 weeks teasing them
- Promotion overdrive on launch day. I picked a few cities around the world and I informed where they could get to the podcast
- Instagram difficult to post URLs unless IGTV or in your bio. Important consideration. Link page.
- Can you get on other podcasts ? Media ?
- Launch party t-shirts / actual party or virtual
Planning your content cycle
- When are you going to research / record / edit / upload / write show notes
- How are you going to define how your podcast looks ?
- When are you going to review ?
- Base it on themes
- Try and batch wherever possible.
