À propos de ce contenu audio
For the month of June, I will be highlighting documentaries, movies, or films that highlight the political, social, and financial obstacles that Black people in America face as a result of racism and oppression. This week I’m talking about episode 1 of Vol. 4 of Hasan’s minhaj’s Netflix Show. The episode takes a deeper look at the broken policing system in America, and the challenges we face in fixing it. Rest in Peace Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and the countless others that have been murdered by the police. #BlackLivesMatter.

The Process:
I’ve crafted my own rubric for shows, music, books and movies, which is what my reviews are based on. In the end I land on a rating (out of five), but I try not to focus so much on the number. We all have different tastes so I try to give a very fair review and I try to be very transparent about my biases. My goal is to highlight things that I enjoy, but I understand the need to highlight movies made by, starring, and centered around people of color. For that reason, you might find lesser known movies, music and shows.
